This is a four shot panorama I took one Saturday in October of 2005, while still a student there. Obviously that day was not a home game day. I used to park in that parking lot in the foreground. Apparently part of my old lot is gone now; replaced by an indoor practice facility. I believe it’s the second indoor football practice facility on campus. Mangino must have been doing something right for them to build him another. I’m excited to see what he can do with the team nex… oh wait, they fired him for some reason. They said they were tired of a ‘mean’ coach, and hired some ‘nice guy’ coach. Well the loser coach before Mangino was a ‘nice guy’ coach, and KU’s football program was horrendous. We’ll see how the new guy does; my hopes are high, but my expectations are low.
Everyone talks about KU basketball. I am proud to tell people I had more fun at KU football games. Even if we lost, I could still say my coach could eat your coach. Now we don’t even have that.

"Nice coach" isn't that an Oxymoron?
ReplyDeleteYou say you attended every game, what did you do, just sneak in or something?
And dang, 2005, that does not seem very long ago, but it really is, I keep forgetting that it is 2010.
Yeah I'd either do the hand stamp trick after halftime to get in, or use a friend's ticket if there were extras. There were always quite a few people hanging out at my friend's place so there were sometimes spare tickets laying around. I have so many good stories from this place!
ReplyDeleteAnd when were you planning to tell us these stories? I love stories!
